Simple and Intuitive
Chartsmith did what you wanted, the way you wanted. You could instantly create a chart from any application by selecting the data and choosing the desired type of chart from the Chartsmith Services Menu. Drag-and-drop colors, images, and annotations to change the appearance of the chart. Chart features could be modified with the Chartsmith Inspector panel - you just clicked the feature and the Inspector displayed the relevant set of controls. You could export chart images by dragging them from Chartsmith, directly to any application that accepts images. It was that easy.
Powerful Feature Set
Chartsmith provided an impressive set of "power" features. Templates were used to duplicate the look-and-feel of any Chartsmith chart. You could create a combination bar-line chart to add emphasis to your data. NEXTSTEP Object Links could be used to automaticaly update the data in your charts. These were just a few of the many features that made Chartsmith the charting application of choice.
Professional Graphics
Chartsmith set the standard for presentation-quality charts. You could create spectacular charts with a stunning array of special effects including gradient fills, text shadowing, and sophisticated 3D effects. Full support for image transparency added a polished look to presentations and reports. Chartsmith's professional-style graphics bought the data to life.
Object Oriented API
Chartsmith extended its charting capability to other applications. You could create sophisticated full-featured charts from custom applications with the Chartsmith API. Charts built using the API could be viewed in Chartsmith, or exported back to the custom application. You could also use the Chartsmith API to tap the power of the charting engine of choice.
