LANSTON was a professional text layout and design program for NEXTSTEP. The program was a modular component of the innovative publishing environment 1 VISION. This VISIONtool' for typesetting offered exceptionally creative text and layout to users who require greater freedom of expression in design. It offered complete control of all text elements in a document, including rotation, skewing, mirroring, kerning, ligatures, piping, text within or around the frames or contours of any element, spell checking, automatic hyphenation, plus about a hundred more features.
