HOTSCAN and COOLSCAN

Hotscan provided an intuitive NeXTStep interface to the Nikon Coolscan film scanner. Coolscan was a 35-mm film scanner that could scan slides and negatives at resolutions up to 2700 dots per inch. Coolscan was a SCSI device that provided accurate scanning in both black-and-white and 24-bit color. Hotscan provided film previewing, easy selection of target regions and scanning resolution, LZW image compression, scanner focusing, automatic control of exposure setting and adjustments for exposure, contrast and brightness.
