eXTRACAL
eXTRACAL cakes the hassle out of calibrating and linearizing the output from devices such as color printers and the Goldleaf Imagesetter. This ensures accurate color and grayscale output of your documents. Use eXTRACAL with devices such as the X-Ritc™ Auto Scan Densitometer to automatically measure halftone dot percentages, film density, color values and more. To ensure case of use, eXTRACAL came with a set of Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) files containing a series of test strips. Simply print the appropriate file to your imagesetter or color output device, insert the strip inco the densitometer and eXTRACAL guides you through the measurement process.
eXTRACAL could also be used to create PostScript Level 2 rendering dictionaries used by eXTRASLIDE, eXTRASET. and eXTRAPRINT for on-the-fly color correction at output time. eXTRACAL fulfills tlie promise of NEXTSTEP'S Display PostScript® Level 2 and device independent color by eliminating die needed to color correct images for each output device.
