AutoFile from Elysia provides automatic scanning, indexing, and filing of paper forms onto magneto-optical media. An alphanumcrical index was Identified by optical character recognition (OCR) on the scanned image. A form was retrieved and displayed, faxed, or printed by specifying its primary index. Typically used forms are shipping documents, receipts, invoices, and so on. Scanning, OCR, and storage take place in the background, leaving Autofile free for form retrieval. Forms could be distributed by fax to interested parties with the click of a button.
