Galen™, was a totally integrated medical management system, which managed the data within a single- or multiphysician practice, utilizing the power of the NeXTStep operating system to provide a comprehensive, but easy-to-use, environment. Galen offered an efficient and self-explanatory
interface and the power of client/server computing.
The window-based, mouse driven graphical interface provided you with the ability to view and edit several items on the screen at once. The tight integration of the windows allowed you to do more work with less effort.
Galen stored data using an SQL database server that could be run on any computer, from a PC to a mainframe. The software featured:

- electronic transmission and paper insurance claims,
- appointment scheduling,
- accounts receivable,
- document management,
- analysis and report generation,
- total resource management and prescription writing,
- on-line CPT & ICD-9 codes,
