VISA was yet another opportunity to break down walls. Add VISA to your NeXT and you were able to use a huge number of graphics, technical drawings and illustrations from the rest of the computer world.

With VISA you could access standard DXF drawings made on a UNIX workstation, an MS-DOS computer or a Mac with AutoCADí and several other CAD packages. You could enlarge or reduce the view and the scale by using simple menu commands to see the whole or discover the details. VISA preserved RGB colors and the available text attributes.
You could save your drawings in your favorite format. PostScript and TIFF were natural choices on the NeXT. In addition you could provide a artwork for the most advanced Adobe Illustrator package on any platform. Save your drawing in the Illustrator document format and use Illustrator for further processing. Ungroup the drawing elements then all of the editing facilities could be used to create fantastic illustrations.
