WYWO
When you're on the phone and needed to take a message, you don't have time to bring up NeXTmail and fumble with the Compose button. Most people, when confronted with this problem, simply pull out a little pink While You Were Out pad and write down the message, defeating the convenience of a networked computer system.
wywo solved this problem by putting the pink pad on the computer. Once started up, wywo remained active but sat unobtrusively next to your dock. You could jot a message with wywo just as fast as you could with a pen and let the electronic mail system do your footwork. While wywo ran under NEXTSTEP, it worked on mixed networks, allowing you to send messages to any user who can receive e-mail from you.
